Mayor And Town Council

The Town of Elon welcomes you and extends a general invitation to all regular and special public meetings. The Town of Elon is governed by the council-manager form of government. The Town Council consists of six elected officials: a mayor, mayor pro tempore, and four council members. The members of the Town Council serve at large and set policy for the Town of Elon. They are elected in staggered terms of four years. The Mayor Pro Tem and members of Council vote on items presented to them during their meetings. In the event of a tie, the Mayor will vote to break the tie. This is the only time the Mayor votes.

Town Council meets twice monthly. The second Tuesday is the Regular Meeting where the Council votes on agenda items and the fourth Monday is the Work Session Meeting. For a listing of the Council Members and their contact information, please visit the directory page.
