Public Art Downtown

First Mural in downtown Elon

The Town of Elon is proud to have our first murals in downtown! Both of these murals were painted by artist, Mary E Ryan. She is a seasoned artist who has been painting most of her life and has a love of painting these outdoor murals. The first mural was done just prior to students arriving for the new school year 2022. The cross walk on Holt Ave next to Magerks is now a colorful abstract piece with a sun in the center. The second mural was completed in September 2022 and is located in the outdoor dining area on W. Lebanon Ave. The large, colorful oak leaves created a beautiful back drop and are a part of the beauty of Elon with its huge Oak Trees. The Art Advisory Board, Downtown Advisory Board and Town Council have been anxious for public art the past few years.
